General Notes
Hunan restaurant, well-known in SF as a family-owned institution and highly recommended by a lot of people. Overall, food is pretty good with homey vibes. You also get ~10% off if you pay by zelle or Venmo, apparently.
Dishes Tasted
- ★☆☆☆ fried tofu with green chili -- alright, not particularly good, not much flavor this cooking method doesn't suit tofu
- ★★★★ sauteed napa cabbage -- this was delicious, cooked so well
- ★☆☆☆ hot and sour potato strips -- a little too thick, a bit overcooked
- ★★☆☆ Sauteed Bullfrog w/ pickled pepper + perilla -- decent flavor, but a little bit too spicy to really enjoy it and there's way too much other stuff
- ★★☆☆ Pork Belly w/ green chili -- cooked pretty well but not my favorite dish overall and way too much chili than anyone needs
- ★★★☆ Hunan Rice Noodles -- super savory, cooked really well, super flavorful, the egg in particular is really great. Quite spicy though.
