General Notes

This place is a solid option for seafood cooked in a southern Chinese cuisine. I'm not the biggest fan of southern Chinese food in general, but this place was pretty reasonably priced and certainly one of the better restaurants I've visited in Boston Chinatown to date.

Positives

> Apparently, they are open very late (until 4AM according to Google Maps), in case you want a very late meal. It seems like there is usually a decent amount of space available, as I was seated immediately on Friday evening with no wait.
> Usually, they serve a free bowl of red bean soup at the end of your meal for everyone. They unfortunately ran out the one time I visited though.

Negatives

> Their food seems pretty hit-or-miss and inconsistent. It's strange that a self-purported seafood restaurant somehow managed to make the best ginger/scallion beef I've had but also absolutely terrible ginger scallion lobster.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★☆☆ 干炒四季豆 -- Cooked well, and the sauce is delicious. Only slightly spicy. Perhaps a little bit too much sauce though.
  • ★★★☆ 清炒豆苗 -- Nicely cooked. A bit watery at the bottom, but the flavor is great.
  • ★★★☆ Clam with Vermicelli -- I think this was in one of the special menus. The clams and the sauce were amazing. However, the vermicelli was one big lump that was a bit bland. Would have liked to see more soy sauce or sauce in general.
  • ★★★☆ Soft-shell Crab -- Nicely fried and flavorful.
  • ★☆☆☆ 北京片皮鸭 -- Pretty disappointing. The wraps were not properly steamed, really dry, and split easily. The duck seemed overly salty and didn't have the succulent, crispy texture characteristic of good 北京烤鸭
  • ☆☆☆☆ Ginger Scallion Lobster -- The flavor was decent, but the lobster was very overcooked and felt like bullets
  • ★★★★ Sizzling Ginger & Scallion Beef -- By far the most tender beef I've had, cooked with this technique.
