General Notes

Well-known New American restaurant in the heart of West Loop in Chicago. Great food, pretty unique flavor combinations. By coming here, you'll definitely try something new that you haven't had before. The menu is designed around small, sharable plates. The menu can be slightly hit or miss, but you can't go too wrong with any of the items -- I would recommend ordering a bit from each section and trying a lot of different things!

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★★★ Sticky Glazed Pork Shank -- cucumber chili crunch salad, strawberry herby chimmi, hot mustard mayo, hoisin mayo. Also served with lettuce wraps and naan. Very good -- excellent flavor, tender + juicy, and the accompaniments go super well with the pork. Note that this is a pretty big portion!
  • ★★☆☆ Sauteed Green Beans -- This one was decent but not that noteworthy. Definitely not the "star of the show" that the waitress promised.
  • ★★★★ Goat Empanadas -- corn mole, charred corn, pickled jalapeno. I'm not really sure what an empanada is supposed to taste like, but I really enjoyed the flavor. It almost tasted like a tamale. The flavors came together beautifully, particularly the corn mole and charred corn.
  • ★★☆☆ Naan and Dips -- carrot tahini dip, tzatziki. The dips individually are pretty good, but the naan itself is just alright. It's a bit too garlicky and not very warm, which makes for not the nicest texture.
