Location Chicago: Loops

General Notes

A pretty famous deep-dish pizza chain in Chicago, with locations all throughout the area. It's known almost as the go-to place for deep dish, but I think it's definitely overhyped. The pizza is decent, but it has its flaws. Still probably a worthwhile experience to try it when you're in Chicago though.

Positives

> You can actually order your pizza in advance before getting your seat. This can dramatically reduce wait times.

Negatives

> Depending on the location, the wait times can be EXTREMELY long. I went once on a random Monday in the middle of summer, and we waited two whole hours just to get our pizza. To be fair, this location was probably the busiest (right in front of Millenium Park), but that's still insane.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★☆☆ Deep Dish Pizza -- The crust is nice (soft but with a crisp exterior), and the cheese/toppings are good. But the pizza is lacking sauce. As a whole, I taste a lot of richness but not enough acidity from the sauce.
