General Notes

I came here for the $33 restaurant week special. I would recommend giving this place a try - the ambiance is nice, and the food is pretty good as well.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★★☆ Braised Beef Brisket -- The polenta, carrots, and sauce were absolutely stunning. The beef, however, was not quite as tender as I would have liked. There was also a huge piece of fat at the bottom, which I was personally okay with but found a bit strange.
  • ★★★☆ Tourchon de Foie Gras -- Spiced pear chutney and toasted levain. This dish is super delicious, has a great flavor, and doesn't have the oddly pungent flavor like the one I got from La Voile. The chunky chutney added a nice textural component, and the bread was toasted well.
  • ★★☆☆ Creme Caramel -- Apparently, this was served with a passionfruit coulis, which I somehow couldn't taste at all. It generally tasted decent, but both the caramel and the custard tasted a bit too liquidy for my preference.
  • ★★☆☆ Mussel Saffron Bisque -- Served with lemon creme fraiche and tarragon oil. I love the flavor of the soup: it's rich and zesty but fresh with the toppings. The saffron works excellently with this soup. I would have liked a bit more mussel flavor, and for the soup to be a bit thicker.
