General Notes

Gangnam Jajang is a fairly new Korean restaurant in Temescal (I think they were previously Koryo Jajang and then there was a change of ownership). It's a delightful restaurant and I would recommend giving it a try! They have a small, compact menu and execute it well, which I really appreciate. Their fried chicken is so good! The interior design is nice, and the service is wonderful. Ordered for takeout but would consider coming back again for their fried chicken.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★★☆ Kkan-pung-gi (soy garlic) -- chicken is fried REALLY WELL. Perfectly crisp, juicy and so intensely savory. The sauce is well balanced; just the right amount of sweetness and a perfect consistency. The pieces are pretty large -- perfect for sharing with a larger group.
  • ★★★☆ Jjam-bbong -- noodles, pork, squid, onion, cabbage, zucchini, carrot in a spicy broth. Surprisingly delicious; the broth is lovely. If you're planning on getting jajangmyeon anyways I'd highly recommend getting their half/half combo with this!
  • ★★☆☆ Jajangmyeon -- I actually ordered the gan-ja-jang (I don't like the slimy, thick texture of jajangmyeon) but I think they messed up my order. Decent but not exactly what I was hoping to get.
