General Notes

I have a soft spot for French pastry shops, and Fleur De Cocoa does not disappoint. Quality desserts + pastries and good vibes. A great place to stop by to start the day or relax after a walk/hike. I don't come down near Los Gatos often but I will certainly be stopping by in the future.

Positives

> Situated in the heart of downtown Los Gatos, nice vibes and a great place worth exploring.
> The store manager has a strong French accent and spoke to me in French, which added a bit to the vibe for me.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★★☆ Canele -- Solid; not extraordinary but well-balanced flavor and good texture. It was also ever so slightly warm, which I appreciated.
  • ★★★★ Chocolate Almond Croissant -- First time trying this pastry; it was delicious! I love the textural contrast - it was crisp and flaky on the exterior, and almost custardy on the inside. The almond, chocolate, and buttery flavor were well-balanced. My only complaint was that there was a bit too much powdered sugar for my taste.
  • ★★★☆ Croissants aux Amandes -- Lined with a light layer of almond cream, baked and sprinkled with confectioner's sugar. Could use a bit of a crispier exterior, but otherwise delicious!
  • ★★★☆ Paris Cake -- Dark chocolate mousse, caramel ganache with tahiti vanilla and fleur de sel, chocolate sponge, and crunchy layer. Delightfully well-balanced with great textural contrast. It doesn't look big, but it's quite dense and can comfortably serve 8 people.
