General Notes
Taiwanese classics; the menu is primarily comprised of beef noodle soup, fried dishes (e.g. popcorn chicken), and braised dishes. Maybe with the exception of 卤肉饭, this is exactly what I imagine in Taiwanese food. Overall, the food is pretty good, worth a try if you're craving any of the above.
Dishes Tasted
- ★★☆☆ lettuce -- meh, the lettuce is cooked ok but the flavor combination on this is a bit weird.
- ★★☆☆ braised platter -- overall i think it's prepared well, but I'm not a huge fan of these dishes overall
- ★★★★ popcorn chicken -- this is incredible -- fried well, juicy / tender, and flavorful. The basil actually tastes like basil too!
- ★★★☆ shank + tendon beef noodle soup -- I normally don't like beef noodle soup broth that much (I find it to be overspiced), but this was a decent balance of spice, spiciness, and other flavors. The noodles are excellent -- I like the chewiness of the wide noodles (you can choose your preferred thickness). The beef was decent but not particularly noteworthy.
