General Notes

This is possibly the first restaurant that I've found which specializes in Northeastern Chinese food. This was my first time having 酸菜 at a restaurant, and it reminded me of what my grandpa used to make. And the waitress' northeastern accent is very obvious; I felt just like at home haha. The food is good but not outstanding; I will probably return, I do love myself some northeastern Chinese food. They do apparently also have roast duck if you preorder a couple of hours in advance, I haven't tried it before though.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★☆☆ 干煸四季豆 -- Green beans, cured pork. The green beans were stir-fried really well and super flavorful. I found the cured pork to be a bit much (pieces were way too large, and it was way too hard / tough. There was also too much ginger, which in my opinion does not go well with this dish.
  • ★★☆☆ 酸菜羊肉粉条 -- Pickled vegetables, thinly sliced lamb, vermicelli noodles in a soup. The pickled vegetables are fantastic; amazing flavor. I love lamb, but thinly sliced lamb does NOT work well for soups; it was pretty tough and overcooked.
