General Notes

Beef KBBQ restaurant in Hongdae. It has pretty good reviews but it was somewhat disappointing. I have a hot take which is that Korean beef is overrated -- it's okay but way overpriced relative to what you get. Beef in Korea is very, very expensive. One interesting item on their menu that's rare is beef tongue; unfortunately with the way it's cut (very thinly) it doesn't end up quite as juicy / delicious as I was hoping. There are a lot of better (mostly pork) KBBQ restaurants in the area, I'd go to those instead. Save beef KBBQ for the US, where it's done better and cheaper.

Positives

> You can order king oyster mushrooms (2) for 1k won, which is incredible. The mushrooms are delicious and at that price I would literally come in and just order a bunch of mushrooms (which is kind of what I did, honestly)
> The grill setup is top-tier. The charcoal fire + thin mesh wire grill allows for a more consistent and uniform sear. I also appreciate the strong smoke suction system, which prevents your clothes from smelling like KBBQ.
