General Notes

Solid Mediterranean restaurant in the Presidio. Nice vibes (pretty good views, depending on the table), great food, but pretty pricey. It can be pretty hard to book a reservation so definitely book far in advance.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★☆☆☆ Turkish Flatbread -- pork sujuk, mornay sauce, poached egg. The flatbread is nice and fluffy. The flavor isn't my perfect; it feels a bit too rich / dull without great contrast.
  • ★★★☆ fried quail and bouikos -- two fried quail, seasonal barbecue sauce, feta, and dill bouikos, kaymak. The quail is fried PERFECTLY. The accompaniment sauce is nice too. The kaymak is excellent, the bouikos and buttery and fluffy.
  • ★★☆☆ octopus and sujuk -- thinly sliced octopus, olive caper dressing, pork sujuk sauce. The sauce and flavors are excellent and they go great with the crackers. You can't really taste anything of the octopus itself though.
  • ★★★☆ breaking bread -- muhammara, tahini, misc other sauces, chubby pita. The chubby pita is delightful, super fluffy. The muhammara was great, there was one other creamy sauce that was great, the others were ok.
  • ★★☆☆ pistachio coffee -- "coffee" made with ground pistachio. creamy, nutty, rich, and sweet. Tastes nice, pretty small, doesn't have any actual coffee.
