General Notes

The concept behind this restaurant is interesting - I've never seen pasties like these before. The prices are also pretty reasonable. The service is good, and it's nice to be able to directly see the process of making the pasties. Unfortunately, the food is very bland. Perhaps this is indicative of British food in general, but I would probably not recommend the food here.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★☆☆☆ The Oggie -- It was okay, but entirely unspectacular. The dish as a whole was bland. The filling lacked seasoning, and the sauce (red wine gravy) had to try too hard to compensate for the lack of acidity and seasoning. Proportions felt off - too much starchy ingredients and not enough meat/onions. The pastry itself was decent, but the thick part in the middle didn't make any sense - it made it annoyingly difficult to eat.
