General Notes

Cira is a fairly new Mediterranean restaurant in the West Loop of Chicago, opening recently in April 2019. It's situated inside a hotel alongside two other restaurants: Cabra and Lazy Bird. Every aspect of my experience at Cira was amazing. The food was incredibly flavorful and textures were spot on. Service was excellent, and the waiter was really friendly. The interior is really nice - it has a modern but elegant feel to it. I'd absolutely recommend giving this place a try, and I'd love to come back to try their dinner menu or other brunch options.

Positives

> Food is excellent! I don't have that much experience, but this was definitely the best shakshuka I've had.
> Great service - our waiter was really friendly. We had a nice conversation with him for a bit and he gave us some great recommendations.
> The interior is beautiful. Relaxed, modern, and elegant. I also really appreciate the fact that our party (of 5) was actually seated at a table designed to seat exactly 5 people.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★★★ Shakshuka -- Shakshuka is one of my favorite dishes, and Cira did not disappoint. Amazing flavors, particularly in the merguez sausage. The tomato sauce was very flavorful and had a great consistency. Eggs were cooked well, bread had the right texture. Even the feta cheese, which I normally don't like, worked really well in this dish, as the intense flavors were able to match that of the feta. An amazing dish!
