General Notes

A decent Moroccan restaurant situated in East Village (although they also have another location in Brooklyn). I had mixed opinions about the food here - some of the components were intensely flavorful and excellently cooked, while others fell flat. On Google Maps, it says that they are "well known for their brunch", which is a bit odd because the brunch offerings are pretty uninteresting and not really Moroccan. I'd actually be interested in trying some of their other lunch/dinner options like their couscous, bastilla, or tagines.

Positives

> Perhaps something worth noting - they are recognized as Michelin recommended. You will clearly see all of their Michelin/Zagat accolades out at the entrance.

Negatives

> Not really a big deal, but I didn't have a particularly pleasant experience with the service, and it was pretty slow (perhaps I just noticed it more distinctly because I had somewhere to be immediately afterwards)

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★☆☆ Moroccan Eggs -- I also ordered the optional merguez sausage for an additional $4. Essentially a shakshuka, except the eggs are not directly poached in the tomato stew. The tomato stew was slightly spicy and intensely flavorful. The sausage had an unusual texture but tasted amazing. Unfortunately, the eggs were a bit overcooked and the roasted potatoes were just terrible. The pita was okay (generally not the biggest fan of pita)
