General Notes

This restaurant is certainly worthy of its one Michelin star rating (or is it Michelin recommended?). The dim sum is not great, but if you come here and focus on the actual entrees, you will find that they are incredibly well executed, simple yet delicious. Considering this restaurant has a Michelin star, this is incredible value! I would definitely recommend giving this place a try.

Positives

> Somehow, we were seated almost immediately as a party of 5, even though the restaurant seemed pretty busy.
> Prices are very reasonable and the menu is good but compact.
> Simple preparations, but extremely well-executed food. Dishes came out relatively quickly.

Negatives

> A bit cramped, and the seats aren't necessarily the most comfortable
> The dim sum is pretty bad. I would definitely not recommend; focus on the actual entrees.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★★★ Lightly Sauteed A-choy -- Extremely good flavor, slightly spicy
  • ★★★★ 干煸四季豆 -- Cooked extremely well, with no burnt or leftover undesirable bits
  • ★★★★ 香辣孜然羊 -- Tender meat, flavorful, nice and spicy, oily, amazing!
  • ★★★★ 松鼠鱼 -- Crispy sweet and sour fish. This dish is boneless and tastes absolutely amazing.
  • ★★☆☆ 担担面 -- Turns out I'm not the biggest fan of this dish - the sauce tastes like sesame paste
  • ★★☆☆ 水晶虾饺 -- It was okay, but the wrapper was a little thick
  • ★☆☆☆ 锅贴 -- The wrapper was a little thick, and the inside of the wrapper was a little soggy
  • ★☆☆☆ 四川凉面 -- The noodles were thin and had an odd taste
