General Notes
New-ish French bistro in the Inner Sunset. Nice vibes, decent food, somewhat difficult to book a reservation for during peak times. Overall, the food was pretty good but not particularly noteworthy. Their menu is pretty interesting though -- they have a few items that you'd be hard-pressed to find elsewhere, like their "octopus hot dog".
Dishes Tasted
- ★☆☆☆ Pain et beurre -- the bread was cold and stiff / hard, don't get this. It's okay if you dip it in the mussels sauce though.
- ★☆☆☆ Pistachio Creme Brulee -- creme brulee was way too thin, so the ratio of creme to the brulee part was way off. The brulee was not done very well (it didn't go quite hard enough), so the sugar was still a little grainy. The creme brulee also lacked the "xiang" sensation, not quite sure what went wrong here but the texture did not feel quite right.
- ★★★☆ Steak -- served with a pepper sauce, satay potatoes, and salad. The steak was cooked pretty well. The potatoes are decent but not particularly noteworthy, the salad is EXCELLENT (I really like the dressing), and the sauce is a little overly salty
- ★★★☆ Mussels -- mariniere sauce, satay potato. Pretty good mussels, sauce is solid
