General Notes
A decent, surprisingly affordable Burmese restaurant in the heart of Walnut Creek. The food is decent but not particularly noteworthy. It's a good place for larger parties, and they do a fun birthday surprise.
Dishes Tasted
- ★☆☆☆ black pepper beef -- Onion, red & green bell pepper, celery, carrot, ginger, garlic, scallion, white wine, black bean sauce, and black & white pepper. A bit flavorless and quite tough.
- ★★☆☆ burmese curry -- Lemongrass, onion, potato, ginger, garlic, scallion, white wine, black bean sauce, soy sauce, and black & white pepper. Got it with chicken. The chicken was cooked quite well, very tender. I'm not a huge fan of the curry though, it's a little watery
- ★☆☆☆ pan fried salmon -- Marinated salmon w/ ginger, garlic, cilantro, and black & white pepper. Served w/ green spicy sauce. The salmon is pretty overcooked, flavor is nice though.
- ★☆☆☆ chicken & shrimp biryani -- Weirdly watery, not a very good biryani
- ★★★☆ burmese garlic noodles -- Egg-flour noodle, fried garlic, scallion, cucumber, garlic oil, and oyster sauce. Served w/ sweet chili sauce, and jalapeƱo. I got it with roast duck. The flavor + savoriness was quite good! The duck was mediocre
- ★★☆☆ deep fried lotus root -- tastes like potato chips
