General Notes

Sister restaurant to Brenda's Meat and Three. In practice, the menu items are almost identical, except without the "meat and three" option for dinner. Check out the review for Brenda's Meat and Three for more info. The one notable unique menu item they have here is the crawfish beignet -- try it out!

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★★★ Beignets (chocolate, apple) -- Wonderful, just as I expected. Awesome texture (soft interior, lightly crispy exterior). Just the right level of sweetness and the powdered sugar was somehow the best powdered sugar I've ever had.
  • ★★★☆ Fried Chicken -- The chicken itself is wonderful. The breading is crispy and the flavor is nice. The jam doesn't work that well with the dish.
  • ★★★☆ Corn Succotash -- Delightful flavor. Perfectly cooked vegetables this time.
  • ★★★☆ Shrimp Po' Boy -- The shrimp is fried perfectly and the sauce on top balances everything out perfectly. I wish the bread were slightly more toasted, but that's a minor point. Be warned: the sandwich is HUGE. The coleslaw was OK but a bit overly sauced/watery.
  • ★★★☆ Crawfish Beignet -- Really unique; you rarely get this kind of bread + cheese texture with seafood, but it works!
