General Notes

A decent meat-centric restaurant in the Castro. Good vibes but a little pricey, with decent food. It wasn't especially noteworthy, but they do have some pretty interesting items on their menu. The way I would describe this place is like a steakhouse married with a New American vibe.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★☆☆ Butcher's Wagyu Burger -- bourbon caramelized onions, melted cheese, horseradish aioli, fries, ciabatta. The patty is cooked pretty well, the onions are a little too sweet for my taste though. The fries leave a bit to be desired.
  • ★★☆☆ Octopodaki -- grilled octopus, lemon, olive oil, oregano, marash, kale, red cabbage, chickpea. Interesting flavor profile, pretty good but it overwhelmed the octopus a little bit.
  • ★★☆☆ Brussel Sprouts -- reduced pomegranate vinaigrette. Cooked pretty well, the pomegranate vinaigrette is just ok and leaves a bit to be desired though.
