General Notes

I came here during the $42 restaurant week special. As a whole, the food was good, but I wouldn't say it was amazing. It's interesting to note that only one of the dishes on the restaurant week special is actually on the standard menu. This is definitely a place worth checking out - the flavors are good (with a heavy Provencal influence), rich and fresh.

Positives

> The atmosphere of the restaurant is really nice, with friendly service.
> The restaurant week deal is a steal, considering the prices of their typical dishes.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★★☆ Bouillabaisse -- All the seafood was perfectly cooked and the broth was amazing, perhaps a tad bland. My only complaint was the bread, which was a bit hard and dry, and I didn't like the rouille that much.
  • ★★★☆ Provencal Stuffed Squid -- swiss chard, fennel, chili, anchovy vinaigrette, arugula. Excellent dish. The arugula was dressed well with the anchovy vinaigrette, the squid was cooked well, and the flavors meshed well to give a fresh taste. The dish was also pretty earthy (especially the sauce), which was a bit strange.
  • ★★☆☆ Creme Brulee -- Decent, but a bit too deep - there wasn't enough caramelized sugar in relation to the amount of custard. Perhaps as a result of being too deep, the bottom was a bit watery. That being said, I love creme brulee and it was still delicious!
