General Notes

Biscuit Bender is a small hole-in-the-wall cafe / brunch place in the Dogpatch, specializing in biscuits, as the name suggests. I randomly stumbled across this place surfing around Google Maps, and decided to visit with a friend one day. I pleasantly surprised -- it was an amazing experience. There isn't any seating, but there's a nice little park nearby called "Progress Park" which some nice seating to enjoy your meal. The biscuits are great, and some of their other offerings are some of the best I've had (like the fried chicken and the waffles). Great food, nice environment, at a very reasonable price.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★★★ Fried Chicken & Belgian Waffle -- served with whipped maple butter. That maple butter was so delicious and made all the difference.
  • ★★★☆ Cinnamon Bun Biscuit -- buttermilk buscuit dotted with cinnamon streusel and topped with a vanilla glaze. They describe it as a "cinnamon bun trapped in a biscuit's body", which I think is a pretty good description.
  • ★★★☆ Fried Chicken Biscuit Sandwich -- The fried chicken is INCREDIBLE -- this is probably the most juicy fried chicken I've ever had. And the exterior is amazing too. The lemon herb butter that's slathered on the biscuit adds a wonderful touch. Honestly, my only real complaint about this sandwich is the structural integrity -- the chicken is huge which makes it tough to eat, and the biscuit can fall apart in the weight of it all.
