General Notes
Birdbox offers some of the best fast-casual fried chicken that I've ever had. Their signature dish is the "Claude the Claw", which is essentially fried chicken sandwich with the thigh, except served with the claw poking out! It's more of a gimmick, even though the claw does actually taste really good. The accompaniments are really solid, especialy the cornbread -- definitely give that a try. This is one of the pricier fried chicken restaurants for sure, but I'd say that it's well worth your money.
Dishes Tasted
- ★★★★ Cornbread -- with honey butter. The honey butter tastes amazing. This cornbread has a texture unlike any cornbread you've had before. My friend put it well -- it's almost like eating the pecan pie filling. It's amazing.
- ★★☆☆ Coleslaw -- decent coleslaw but it has a flavor profile that's maybe a little to strongly of celery, which I don't like as much
- ★★★★ Fries -- with schmaltz. A bit pricey, but these are definitely really good fries
- ★★★★ Claude the Claw -- a whole deboned chicken thigh + drum (+claw). This was amazing in just about every way. The chicken was crispy, so juicy, and amazingly flavorful. The bun was actually really well toasted (a common complaint I have with fried chicken sandwiches), and the accompaniments were great
