General Notes

Beretta offers some of the best pizza I've had in a long time. According to Google Maps, Beretta is a "laid-back Italian eatery offering pizza, pasta & small plates, plus weekend brunch & cool cocktails". Sums it up pretty well. I had a delightful experience here and would definitely recommend!

Positives

> Their thin-crust pizzas are to die for. The crust strikes a perfect balance between being delightfully crisp and a slightly soft interior. Each component is thoughtfully executed to perfection.
> They offer a lot of nice outdoor seating. It's also right by Alamo Square park, perfect to order takeout and enjoy a picnic in the park.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★★☆ Carbonara -- Again, the crust has an amazing texture. The flavor profile hits all the right notes and the eggs are cooked perfectly. I've never had eggs on a pizza but it works wonders. My only nit is that I wish the bacon were slightly crispier. Otherwise, an amazing pizza!
  • ★★★☆ Margherita Burrata -- The crust has an amazing texture and the tomato sauce has the perfect consistency / flavor. Burrata was a bit odd on pizza (I prefer mozzarella), but overall an amazing pizza
  • ★★☆☆ Herb Onion Foccacia -- Extra virgin olive oil. Solid all-around -- the flavor and texture is pretty good but a bit unpleasantly hard around the outsides.
