General Notes

An upscale dim-sum restaurant in the heart of the Mission. Overall, the food is decent but a little bit underwhelming, especially considering how pricey it is relative to other dim sum places. The ambiance is really nice though, and it is one of the few places in the Mission offering dim sum. I probably wouldn't return but it's a decent option for dim-sum.

Positives

> The ambiance of the restaurant is lovely. There's also calming piano playing in the background, which is very much my cup of tea.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★★☆ Steamed Pork and Shrimp Shumai -- shrimp, pork, and mushroom. This was pretty well-made -- clean flavors, nice texture on the filling. Overall, executed well and with precision.
  • ★★☆☆ Spicy Wonton -- boiled dumplings with kale, pork, shrimp, & house spicy hot oil sauce. Not a huge fan of the filling, the shrimp is OK but the pork has a weird stringy texture. The chili oil was a nice touch, though.
  • ★☆☆☆ Chinese Broccoli -- steamed Chinese broccolini with oyster sauce on the side. Not bad per-se, just a bit flat and disappointing. Some of the gai lan were a bit undercooked. I'm used to additional components with my gai lan like garlic and a slightly less thick consistency drizzled over, which I missed.
