General Notes

A traditional upscale Italian restaurant. Overall, the service is good and the restaurant concept is cool. Unfortunately, the food is just not up to par with the price. I would probably not recommend coming here.

Positives

> There are a lot of cool menu specials.
> The service was good, and the servers seemed knowledgeable, but it was a bit too loud so it was difficult to connect.
> I love the tableside service for steak diane and caesar salad. It's a nice touch and I think that more restaurants should do this.

Negatives

> The food was pretty mediocre considering the price - underwhelming flavors and lacking texture. In general, foods needed more browning and a better sear.
> The environment was really, really loud.
> The server took like 10-20 minutes just to bring us our menu, while we were just waiting.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★☆☆☆ Scallops Fra Diavolo -- Scallops were undercooked with no sear whatsoever. The flavor wasn't terrible but certainly wasn't great - the sauce tasted kind of like canned tomato sauce.
  • ★★☆☆ Cheesecake -- Pretty high quality. I found the chocolate sauce to be a strange pairing though.
  • ★★☆☆ Chilean Sea Bass -- Okay. Nice and juicy on the inside, but the lack of a crispy sear on the outside and the lack of seasoning was disappointing. The polenta also needed way more seasoning and lacked in texture. Sauce was good, but I wanted more. I would have liked some component that cut into the fattiness of the sea bass better.
  • ☆☆☆☆ Peppers -- These were extremely spicy, since the seeds were not removed from the peppers.
  • ★☆☆☆ Cheese, Salami -- These were complementary and okay
  • ☆☆☆☆ Bread/butter -- Terrible. The bread was dry and sliced too thin. The butter was cold, unsmearable, and lacking the 'savory' taste
