Fluffy, creamy, and definitely worth the hype. It's just the right level of sweet and remarkably balanced, considering how simple it is to make. I typically make it with decaf instant coffee (I'm very sensitive to caffeine), so I consume the entire drink by myself. But this recipe is typically enough for two drinks.
Active Time: 10 min
Total Time: 10 min
> instant coffee (2 tbsp)
> sugar (2 tbsp)
> water (2 tbsp)
> milk of your choice (~10-12 oz)
> ice
1. In a large mixing bowl, add instant coffee, sugar, and water. Mix with an electric hand mixer (or a whisk if you're feeling ambitious) until stiff peaks form. Use a spatula to wipe down the sides of the mixing bowl as needed. you should end up with roughly 4-8 oz of coffee "whipped mixture"
2. In a large glass, add ice and milk. Fill about 2/3 of the way up. Gently spoon the coffee mixture over the top.
3. Before enjoying, mix the coffee mixture and milk together fully incorporated and frothy.
> Use an electric hand mixer, unless you're feeling especially ambitious. You could also do this with a whisk, but expect to whisk continuously for around 10 minutes before you can get the desired texture.
