Perhaps one of the simplest recipes of all time, adapted from a tasty recipe. The base recipe actually just contains three ingredients. Of course, it's very versatile and you could elevate it with additional ingredients. But the base recipe is surprisingly delicious and works great for a quick weeknight dinner.
Active Time: 10 min
Total Time: 10 min
> boneless, skinless chicken thigh (1 lb)
> soy sauce (1/4 cup)
> honey (1/6 cup)
1. In a skillet over high heat, sear the boneless chicken thigh on both sides until golden brown.
2. Turn the heat down to medium. Whisk the soy sauce and honey together and add it to the pan.
3. Occasionally move/flip the chicken around. Continue to cook until the sauce becomes a glaze and the chicken is fully cooked through. Serve and enjoy!
> There are so many ways you can extend this recipe to elevate it. A bit of lemon juice/zest would be lovely in the sauce. Consider marinading the chicken, or adding garlic, ginger, or scallions. Other ingredients that could work well include various types of sugar, corn starch, sesame seeds, and rice vinegar.
> Relatively small boneless, skinless chicken thigh works best in my opinion. Breast is fine but is somewhat unforgiving when it comes to cooking time, which isn't great with a handwavy recipe like this one. If your chicken thighs are large or unevenly shaped, you could also cut it into smaller chunks.
