Quite possibly one of the easiest dishes to make. Yet there are few things more delicious than a good caprese, especially during the peak of summer. An amazing dish for literally any occasion when tomatoes are in season.

> tomato
> fresh mozzarella
> basil
> olive oil
> (optional) balsamic vinegar
> salt, pepper
1. Slice tomato and mozzarella into roughly 1/4 inch slices. Arrange on a plate, alternating between tomato, mozzarella, and basil leaves.
2. Sprinkle a tiny bit of coarse sea salt and freshly grated black pepper, and some roughly chopped basil.
3. Drizzle a little bit of olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
> Use only a little bit of salt/pepper. If the ingredients are fresh, they'll mostly speak for themselves and don't need much salt.
> Balsamic vinegar is a non-traditional addition, but I think it really helps balance + round out the dish. Use only a small amount.
